It’s our 11th year!

We are moved beyond words to have had such amazing support through the growing pains of hosting such a multifaceted race.

While most of you know we run a few miles on private property, some do not know the land owners name. That is Ramon and Betty Criss. May 2017 we lost Ramon.

With Betty’s permission we are proud of rename this race the Ramon Criss Storm the Dam Trail Run presented by Spencer, Wernli & Wilson Advisors.

The part we do run on was some of Ramon’s favorite land and he would often drive out to check on deer, turkey and other wildlife that made that beautiful land their own.

So as you run on that property, know it is even more special to us.

We can only run on it on race day, that was the one rule in order for him to allow us to continue exploring the beauty.

Race Details

The ramon criss Spencer, Wernli & Wilson Storm the Dam Trail run is a chip timed trail run which winds through scenic El Dorado Lake State Park and adjacent private property. The double loop marathon, half marathon and 10K connect to the Teter Nature Trail; with some challenging single track trail. Depending on rainfall expect some wet and muddy crossings. Storm up the dam and enjoy lake views as you run along the lake shore. Grassy moderate rolling hills of the Boulder Bluff horse trail await you next, work your way through the Walnut Ridge Trail before crossing the finish line near the amphitheater.

The 5K starts with a storm up the dam, enjoy lake views as you run along the shore, find adventure on a short portion of trail course, cross the Walnut River bridge for a final push on paved surface to the finish line.

Marathon course limit is 6 hours

No bicycles, automobiles, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, baby joggers, or animals allowed on the course.

Each mile is marked throughout the course, and six volunteer staffed aid stations await you with food and hydration.
